Flex Picks: How They Work

Flex Picks are SureShot’s secret sauce — a way to turn unused salary cap space into bonus points by making a few well‑timed calls. If you’ve ever wanted to squeeze a little more juice out of your lineup, Flex Picks are your play.

What are Flex Picks?

After drafting your lineup under the salary cap, you might have some budget left over. That leftover salary unlocks up to six Flex Picks. Each Flex Pick is a side selection (think of it like a mini‑parlay) where you predict whether a player will go over or under a given stat projection. Nail the projection for every Flex Pick you choose, and you’ll add bonus points to your total score.

When can I use them?

You can only make Flex Picks if you have leftover salary. Spend your entire budget and you lose access. The more unused cap you have, the bigger the potential bonus.

  • Leftover cap required: No leftover cap = no Flex Picks.

  • Up to six picks: You can select from one up to six Flex Picks. Each pick uses a portion of your remaining salary.

  • All‑or‑nothing bonus: To earn the bonus points, all your Flex Picks must be correct. If even one misses, the bonus is zero.

How is the bonus calculated?

The Flex Picks bonus is dynamic. Here’s how it scales:

  • Base value: The bonus starts at 10 points.

  • Multiplier for unused cap: Every $1,000 of unused salary increases the base by 10%.

  • Doubling effect: Each additional Flex Pick doubles the potential bonus. Two picks double it once, three picks double it twice, and so on.

In practice, a few well‑chosen Flex Picks with $5,000 left over can add a hefty boost to your final score—if you hit them all. But take care: more picks mean a bigger reward, yet they also increase the difficulty of hitting every selection.

Strategy tips

  • Choose players you know: Stick with players you’re confident about. If you’re following a game closely, Flex Picks on their projected stats make more sense.

  • Balance risk and reward: Leaving more salary on the table increases your upside, but using all your salary to draft top players may give you a higher baseline. Test different strategies to see what works for you.

  • Start small: If you’re new to Flex Picks, begin with one or two picks to get a feel for how the bonus scales.

Use Flex Picks wisely and they can be the difference between a good night and a great one. They’re another way to showcase your sports knowledge and turn smart predictions into extra points.
