Overview

SureShot provides unique gameplay that combines traditional lineup optimization under salary cap restraints with flex picks: additional lineup spots where users draft athletes and must select whether each Flex Pick will accumulate more or less than an associated performance projection. Participants will create a lineup by selecting players listed in the Player Pool. Each player listed has an assigned salary and a valid lineup must not exceed the salary cap. If a participant populates their lineup without using their full salary cap, they may select up to 6 flex picks. If a user selects all their flex picks correctly, they earn additional fantasy points. The goal is to accumulate the most fantasy points in the league.

Flex Pick Scoring

The number of fantasy points Flex Picks can earn is a function of how many picks, and the amount of leftover salary cap. If there is no leftover salary cap then the user does not get to make any Flex Picks and cannot earn any fantasy points from Flex Picks. If a user has leftover salary cap, they can earn additional fantasy points only if ALL the selected Flex Picks are correct. The amount of fantasy points the Flex Picks are worth is:

FlexPicksPoints = (10 * (1 + ((max salary - total salary used)/10,000))) * (2^(Pick Count - 1))

So each additional flex pick doubles the amount of fantasy points, and each $1,000 of leftover salary increases the fantasy points by 10%.

Learn more about Flex Picks here.

Lineup Edits

Lineups can be edited only before a league has a started.

Position Eligibility

Player positions are determined at the sole discretion of SureShot.

Contest Entry

The Entry-Fee and Prize Pool for a contest will not change once the contest is created. Therefore, each contest has a maximum amount of total entries accepted. Contests that have not reached capacity will be available for entry up until the contest start time.

All contests that do not reach capacity by contest start time may be merged with other similar unfilled contests or may be canceled and refunded.

Scoring and Payouts

Live scoring updates are strictly for the enjoyment of SureShot's customers. SureShot’s official scoring validation process begins once all games within the contest are final. This process ensures that SureShots scoring matches official stat providers when contest results are finalized and paid out.

Once contests are finalized, a contest status will update to "Completed", and that contest will move from the "Live Games" section to the "Completed Games" section on the My Leagues page.

SureShot uses statistics from third party providers for the purposes of providing game results and real-time entertainment value to its end users. These third party providers include, but are not limited to SportsDataIO, and in some cases, data provided directly by applicable sports leagues. SureShot may change third party providers from time to time without notice. For more information, please contact SureShot customer service at support@sureshotfantasy.com

On occasion, official scorers may issue a stat-correction after games have ended and the official scoring validation process has completed. These corrections are rare, but can occur days after a game is played. Therefore, any changes to official scoring that occur after contests have been finalized will not impact those finalized contests. Conversely, if a correction needs to be made after contests are finalized due to a bug with the data feed or the finalization process, while extremely rare, the finalization process (including payment) may be reversed and redone correctly.

Note: The official scoring validation process is solely to ensure that SureShot contest results are determined based on official scoring. Delays during this process may occur as a result of data collection or other technical difficulties. SureShot will not attempt to make judgements on scoring rulings.

In the event that two or more players are tied for a cash or cash-equivalent prize, the prize is split among the tied users. Note: specialty contests or contests with sponsor prizes may have different tie breaking rules. Please see the contest’s rules & scoring page or the terms of service for a specific promotion to learn more about how tie breaking scenarios are handled.

Learn more about payouts here.

Player Salaries

SureShots' player salaries are intended to provide an interesting, challenging, skill-based game resulting in a top quality experience for SureShot customers. Player salaries are determined based on historical statistics and aspects of a player’s upcoming matchup may be factored into their salary.

Please note that player salaries listed are a function of the salary cap fantasy sports contest format and are not intended, and should not be relied upon, as any indication of real-life salary valuations of the individual players.

MLB

Participants will create a lineup by selecting players listed in the Player Pool. Each player listed has an assigned salary and a valid lineup must not exceed the salary cap of $50,000. If the participant does not use the full $50,000, they can draft additional Flex Picks.

Contest results will be determined by the total points accumulated by each individual lineup entry (scoring rules summarized below).

Participation in each contest must be made only as specified in the Terms of Use. Failure to comply with these Terms of Use will result in disqualification and, if applicable, prize forfeiture.

Player Pool

The Player Pool will consist of all MLB players expected to be on the active roster for any team scheduled to play in the contest Game Set. Occasionally a player may be missing from the Player Pool due to trades or other unforeseen circumstances.

In most circumstances, once the Player Pool is established for a Game Set, including positions and salaries, the Player Pool will not be adjusted. In the rare event that there is a mistake within the Player Pool that would significantly impact game quality, SureShot reserves the right to correct the mistake after contests for that Game Set have become available. This may result in valid lineups becoming invalid. This would most likely occur shortly after the Player Pool becomes available, far in advance of the contest start time, and participants who have entered contests for the Game Set prior to the adjustment will be notified via email.

A "Game Set" is a set of games used for contests; each contest is tied to one Game Set. Contests tied to the same Game Set can be created at different times. Therefore, game policies are based on the timing of a Game Set being made available, not each individual contest.

Position Eligibility

Player positions are determined at the sole discretion of SureShot.

Lineup Edits

Lineups can be edited only before a league has a started. Additionally, any swaps that were made after the real-life start time of the game will result in those lineups being disqualified and refunded.

Cancelled, Postponed, and Rescheduled Games

In the event that a game is canceled, postponed, or rescheduled to a time outside of the original Scoring Period, the game will be disabled from the Game Set and players listed to play in that game will not be eligible to accrue points.

The Scoring Period for MLB is defined as the timeframe between the scheduled start of the first game within the Game Set and 11:59pm ET on the date of the start time of the last scheduled game within the Game Set.

In the event a game is postponed, SureShot will make a decision no later than 11:59pm ET of the day of the game on how to handle the postponed game.

SureShot may choose to adjust the Scoring Period for a Game Set at their sole discretion to accommodate schedule changes to any time before 12:00am ET on the day after the Game Set is scheduled to start.

Any games that are disabled will be indicated as such on Draft Screens. Emails and other notifications may also be used to notify users of disabled games.

If canceled or games rescheduled for a later date result in a Game Set including only one active game, then all contests for that Game Set will be canceled and refunded.

Games are "known" to be canceled or postponed once their status is updated as such by SureShots’ MLB stats-provider, SportsDataIO.

Suspended or Shortened Games

SureShot uses official MLB statistics and only includes statistics from games MLB deems to be official. If the MLB declares a game "suspended" then the statistics generated before the game is suspended will count in Game Sets containing said game. Any statistics generated on a later date when the game resumes will not be included.

NBA

Participants will create a lineup by selecting players listed in the Player Pool. Each player listed has an assigned salary and a valid lineup must not exceed the salary cap of $50,000. If the participant does not use the full $50,000, they can draft additional Flex Picks.

Contest results will be determined by the total points accumulated by each individual lineup entry (scoring rules summarized below).

Participation in each contest must be made only as specified in the Terms of Use. Failure to comply with these Terms of Use will result in disqualification and, if applicable, prize forfeiture.
